A biography is a life’s summary of an individual written by some other person. It contains stories of achievements, struggle, relations of love and hatred etc. the biography would not of any interest unless it do not contain key memories and events of a person’s life. The biography which is written as per college requirement is a type of assignment for students. Though they do not have any interest in writing a biography, they are supposed to write an eye-catching biography to get a good score in the paper. The college biography must be written in the following way so to avoid adding irrelevant data in the biography:
1) Think about a subject – the student is given liberty in colleges in selecting the topic for writing the biography. The subject must be a renowned person like celebrities, politicians etc. the selection of these personalities as a subject is important because the readers must know about whom they are reading.
2) Conduct interview – if a student is writing a biography, then students cannot write the biography by including any random stories available in newspapers and articles. But personal interviews can be conducted to collect useful original stories from different individuals who are in close relation with the subject person or the person himself. The biography should contain those facts and stories which readers will be reading the first time that can make the topic interesting.
3) Make the content interesting- the starting part of the biography must be interesting like it can be started with the most tragic story of the subject and then good times of his life can be written. The different flashbacks and remembrances can be used while writing the biography. This will increase the interest of the reader and will not let the reader feel boredom.
4) Focus on the topic- the student must think twice what he wants to show in his writing like tragedy, moral, guilt, happiest moment, greatest achievement, love of the life or hatred etc. the students must include the facts in such a way that the theme of the biography which the student has selected can be seen in the contents.
5) The sequence of the events- every facts and story that the student has collected must be categorised into different years chronologically so that these can be added into the contents of the story in such a way that it shows the sequence of the subject person living in an ordered manner.
6) Moreover, the format, grammar, spellings etc. are minor requirements but of huge importance for writing a biography as a student. The student can provide a background of the full story before starting page of the biography so that the readers can understand the theme of the biography and help them in better understanding the story.
7) The biography must be written in third person format. The title of the biography should be made aligned with the theme of the biography. The biography must contain the name of the student as a writer on the front page.
